Charles Frederick Williams was born at Derbyshire, England about 1901.

His parents were Charles Percy Williams, born about 1973 at Chellaston, Derbyshire, England and Florence Emily Williams (nee Meakin/Underwood) born 1878 at Derbyshire, England who married at Shardlow, Derbyshire, England in 1899.

His maternal grandparents were Octavious Underwood, born 19 Oct 1857 at Dursley, Gloucestershire, England and Agnes Meakin born 1855 at Shardlow, Derbyshire, England who married at Nottingham, England on 17 June 1895.

In 1911, when he was 9 or 10 years old, he emigrated with his parents to the USA. The family eventually settled at 294 Davenport Street, Bridgeport, Fairfield, Connecticut, USA
