UK Marriage index 1920. 1Mile End, London, Oct-Dec, vol 1c, page 697. Underwood, Joseph and Travell, Alice. Probable Death. UK Death index. 1946 Bromley, Jan-Mar, vol 2a, page 1154. Underwood, Joseph. Aged 49. POSSIBLE CONFUSIONS The 1911 census appear to be the family, but Joshua appears to have changed his name from Joshua to Johnathan and his location of birth from Bristol to Bermondsey! Even the occupation is similar drapers porter (1891 census) drapery warehouseman (1901 census) and wholesale drapery salesman (1911 census). The changes in the birth place of Matilda, from Dorchester to Cerne Abbas, can be explained by Cerne Abbas being on the outskirts of Dorchester. The changes in the birth place of William from Newington, London to Kennington Park, London is explained by the fact that both Newington and Kennington Park both became part of the same registration district in 1901.
