Note | BiographyEmma S Cox was born about 1842. Her parents were Richard Cox, b 1819, and Grace Webber, b.1825 who married at Crediton, Devon, in 1843. She appears on the 1851 UK Census as Emma Cox, aged 8, and on the 1861 UK Census as Emma S Cox, aged 19 References1851 UK Census
The bottom line of the above transcript originally said: Richard Cox, Son, Female, 9, b. Channel Islands Richard wasn't born then (8 at next census) Either, this was a different Richard who died (and female is incorrect) or, more likely, this is 9 year old Lavinia Cox (and Richard' is incorrect) I have not seen the original Census record so can't tell which error is on the transcript. 1861 UK Census: RG09, Piece 1435, Folio 108, Page 22 Green Street, Plymouth, Devon
